Well, actually, I was talking about myself and my personal gameplay preferences. But if you're asking why I don't like the format, I think the objective arguments are: It's too fast. Interaction with the opponent is minimal. Most choices revolve around optimizing your proactive strategy, regardless of what the opponent is doing. Every deck feels the same to me-almost all of them are combo decks I used to like a modern format that it's not there anymore, and it won't be anymore splinter twin just reminds me about that
Leaving a cheeky message here to mention two of the remaining Twin variants worth trying: RUG with Goyf/Questing Druid + DRC/Rag/Bolt, and Jeskai with Tune/GalvBlast/Wrath/Prismatic Ending/Tamiyo/Flame. GGs gl :)
In game 2 of round 2 couldn't the opp let you get flame and when you use it to remove it in combination with bolt exile their own yard for 3 counters on murktide making it lethal?
Punts aside, Twin looks so bad currently. I’ll keep trying different builds for it but the metagame is super hostile to a T4 creature combo hahaha i guess the unbannings did nothing besides Opal.
what the heck is this nonsense violating the basic rules of deckbuilding not even playing enough lands to hit 4 on turn 4 75% of the time without plaiyng a consider on turn 1. Garbagio -4 consider -2 lorien -1 sink into stupor (You do not want to cast lorien, so just play another fetch) (Only 21 lands if you count the stupors, you should be playing 23-24) +THE FOURTH SPLINTER TWIN (4 Exarchs but only 3 twin wth is this crap) +1-2 Maindeck Magus of the moon + 4-5 lands of your choice, prob at least 2 more fetchlands and another of each basic unless you up to 2 maindeck magus. All the considers and the extra optionality take from the core efficiency of the deck, which it needs in order to actually be consistent. You can up the overall consistency and still get away with playing 1-2 maindeck magus of the moon which is really cool to play against a resolved harbinger of the seas when you fetched your lone mountain and they think you can't combo.
u can play 3 splinter twin since ure playing 4 thundertrap trainer who can found it, and this deck has no chance to discard the useless redundant copies of splinter, u just need 1 to win
This is a good example of why they should unban way more cards. The format just isn't the same and cards that dominated before are just OK now.
only if you dont draw your 4th land
Time for Oko!
I believe in splinter twin too, the point is I don't believe in modern anymore
Why?

@@Vulpix64 I know you were talking about yourself, I just wanted to understand what made you feel like that. Thank you for explaining it

@8:23 Who needs DuoLingo when Mengu provides Italian lessons for free in his veedeos?
WotC Wizards needs to print a 3mana Wizard to combo with Twin. So URx Wizards gets buffed
I've been playing Grixis Twin, for fatal push and MB Cling to Dust

23:20 "Lithe" might be the perfect word? It means thin and graceful. Lean is also good, but that has some other connotations.
seems a bit land light maybe?
round 1 opponent's deck is sweet, you should play that one some time lmao
bloodghast, stitcher supplier and satoru, a nice collection of mengus favourite cards lmao
